About Anthony Hernandez

In Anthony’s own words…

I began weight training at the age of 16 in 2006. My Dad was a power bodybuilder and inspired me to begin training. We had a full gym in our garage, and I started there. A year later, I purchased a membership at Bally’s Total Fitness and became much more serious.

When I began weight training, I weighed 120 lbs. I reacted really well to the weights and gained 30 lbs of natural muscle within a year. Starting out, my max bench at 16 was 95 lbs. Within that same year, it ended up at 315 lbs. I was addicted and only continued to improve and grow through the years.

I’ve entered three local power lifting competitions for the bench press and have two first place finishes and one second place finish.  One competition, I benched 445 lbs weighing just 188 lbs. Another competition, I benched 225 lbs for 30 reps weighing 184 lbs.

I have always worked full-time and either went to school or worked another part time job. I currently work full-time as a teacher and part-time at a pizzeria. I am married and plan on having kids in the near future. I also plan on competing in the Classic physique category in the NPC in the near future.  Also, I am an all NATURAL bodybuilder and have been since I began weight training 12 years ago.
