About IFBB Pro George Peterson

George Peterson got into working out through his idol, Bruce Lee. While studying and practicing Shotokan Karate, George wanted to make his punched and kicks stronger. Bruce Lee trained with weights to become stronger, so George followed his lead and started lifting weights.

While training at the first gym George joined, another member came up to him and asked him if he had ever competed in bodybuilding. George said no but was interested in getting into it. This member helped prepare George for his first bodybuilding show.

Bodybuilding can be a huge personal commitment, and George soon learned that if he wanted to compete in bodybuilding, there would be sacrifices. George believes the most challenging part of bodybuilding is balancing competitive life with everyday life. George says, “Competitive life requires so much attention and time that everyday life can tend to get in the way at times. There are components of my everyday life that suffer being so involved in competitive life, such as friendships and relationships, but I fully understand to achieve certain goals it will take some sacrifice in other areas.”
