About Jonathan Shreve

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Jonni Shreve started training at the young age of 11. He was active in football and baseball and quickly learned how training made him excel at sports. Soon, his main focus was football and weight training which then gave him the opportunity to play football at Saint Mary’s University on an athletic scholarship. As his career started to see its end with interest from some CFL teams, unfortunately nothing came of it.

In his last game as a Huskie, Jonnie remembers friends of his in the bodybuilding community suggested that he compete in bodybuilding. What then was a long shot, soon became a reality. Stepping on stage for his first time right after his last season of football, Jonni placed 3rd in the heavyweight division, which gave him the qualification to compete at the CBBF Nationals that summer. He then placed 8th in the super heavyweight class.

The following year, he dialed it in to win the NSABBA 2013 Provincials giving him a lifetime bye to the CBBF Nationals. That summer, he competed again, but this time it was in his hometown in the same weight class placing 3rd and qualifying him for the international stage at the Arnold Classic Amateur 2014. There, he placed an impressive 5th overall making him a top 5 heavyweight amateur in the world. That same year, Jonni was to compete on the Canadian National stage again. This time he placed a close 2nd place by only 2 points. Again, Jonni took another crack at the Arnold Classic Amateurs this time placing 3rd. Jonnie also took 3rd place in the heavyweight division at the 2016 CBBF Nationals.
